The Red Dirt Adventure Challenge (RDAC) is an beginner-level adventure race hosted by the Abilene Christian University Outdoor Club and Hardin Simmons University Outdoor Adventures Program. Unlike past years, the 2010 race will be an off-road duathlon, composed of a trail running leg and a mountain biking leg.

Who Does That Include?

Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Faculty
Staff
Alumni
and the General Public. Everyone, even if you are not associated with ACU or HSU, is invited to either participate or volunteer.

Three divisions of competition:

“H-core Division” - for intermediate / competitive racers, longer distance.
“JFF or Just For Fun Division” – for beginner racers. A great way to begin to enter the adventure racing world!
“Family Division” – for immediate family members. An excellent family bonding experience!

Course Info

The JFF and Family course consists of a 7.3 mile bike and a 1.5 mile run. The entire run and most of the bike section is on dirt and gravel roads. The HCORE course consists of a 8.25 mile bike and a 3.1 mile run. The run is a mix of dirt and gravel roads and dirt paths. The bike section is a mix of dirt and gravel roads, singletrack, and backcountry-style trails. In addition, there are a few places where riders may need to dismount.
